Sample interview questions
I have 8+ years managing vSphere clusters, implementing HA, DRS, and FT to ensure uptime. For example, I configured a 4-node cluster with vSAN storage, enabling automatic failover and load balancing, achieving 99.99% availability.
I would assess the current environment, plan the migration strategy (bulk or lift-and-shift), set up HCX connectors, and test network extensions. I would then migrate workloads in phases, monitoring performance and rollback plans.
NSX provides micro-segmentation and distributed firewalls. I have used it to create security policies isolating application tiers, reducing attack surface. For instance, I implemented zero-trust zones for a multi-tenant cloud.
I have used Terraform to automate provisioning of VMware resources like VMs and networks. For example, I wrote modules to deploy consistent environments across vSphere and AWS, reducing deployment time by 60%.
I regularly attend VMware conferences, earn certifications, and follow NIST guidelines. In my previous role, I ensured systems met FedRAMP requirements by implementing continuous monitoring and automated compliance checks.
